FIFA World Cup Winners List from 1930 to 2022 – Complete List
The FIFA World Cup is the main international football tournament at the national team level. The Cup received by the champion is the most coveted trophy by both soccer players and fans of football.
This tournament has been played once every four years since 1930, with the exception of 1942 and 1946, when it was suspended due to World War II.
Throughout history, only EIGHT national teams have achieved the feat of winning the World Cup, and five of them have done it more than once.
Brazil is the most winning team with five trophies, although curiously it could not win the two occasions in which it was the home team (1950 and 2014). Below is a list of nations that have won most FIFA world cups.

*If Uruguay has won two World Cups, why does it wear four stars on its Shirt?
Before the creation of the World Cups, the FIFA Congress agreed to organize the Olympic Football Tournaments. These tournaments were held at the Olympic Games in Paris and Amsterdam. Uruguay was crowned Olympic Champion, beating Switzerland (1924) and Argentina (1928) in the final.
Such was the success of this tournament that FIFA decided to create its own World Cup competition. The president of the time, Jules Rimet, led the proposal (the Cup would later bear his name).
FIFA recognized the 1924 and 1928 Games as World Cups, which is why los Charrúas did not hesitate to proudly wear the blue and blue with their four stars.
